Product – Wastewater unit
Timeline – 6 months
Plant Capacity – 100KLD
Project/ Equipment – ZLD plant with advanced self-cleaning technology
Summary of the project : ZLD plant with advanced self-cleaning technology
A famous Pharma company recently implemented a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plant at its new facility in Vizag, India. The plant was designed and supplied by Shachi Engineering, a leading provider of ZLD solutions.
The ZLD plant is designed to treat 100 KLD of wastewater from the pharmaceutical manufacturing process. It includes a stripper system to remove low-boiler solvents, a four-effect evaporation plant, a centrifuge, and an ATFD (Agitated Thin Film Dryer). The plant also features self-cleaning technology, which helps to prevent fouling and reduce maintenance costs.
ZLD plant with advanced self-cleaning technology Challenges
The main challenge of the project was to design and install a plant that could meet the client’s strict requirements for treating complex effluent generated in Pharma & API industries.
Proper treatment of complex effluent is crucial to avoid environmental and health hazards. Companies must comply with regulations and prioritize effluent treatment, which can be done effectively through Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) to tackle water scarcity. It’s not only a legal requirement but also a corporate social responsibility to ensure the safety of the environment and society.
Solutions
ZLD with Self-Cleaning Technology
Shachi delivered an innovative wastewater treatment solution by incorporating a steam-based Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) technology with advanced self-cleaning technology.
Complete ZLD Solution including Stripper System
The ZLD plant included a Stripper System to remove low-boiler organic solvents, a four-effect evaporation plant followed by a combination of centrifuge, and an ATFD (Agitated-Thin Film Dryer) for post-evaporation. This integrated approach ensures that no harmful substances are released into the environment, aligning with Valens’ commitment to environmental responsibility.
Technical Competency in Steam-based ZLD Plant
Shachi demonstrated unparalleled technical expertise in designing and implementing a Steam-based ZLD Plant for the client. Steam-driven ZLD technology provides high efficiency in evaporation and separation processes, effectively treating 100KLD of wastewater from pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Prolonged Performance with Self-Cleaning Technology
The standout feature of Self-Cleaning Technology is reduced scaling and maintenance costs. It also ensured consistent high performance and extended the plant’s lifespan. By preventing fouling and clogs, The client can rely on its wastewater treatment system for years, reducing the need for costly replacements and downtime.
Efficiency Meets Affordability
The ZLD plant operates with meagre operational expenses (Opex). This cost-effective approach made it an ideal solution to meet stringent wastewater treatment standards without breaking the bank. By optimizing resource usage and minimizing maintenance needs, the plant delivers outstanding value for long-term operations.
